Я бы еще только добавил, что на тот день прошло всего 20 лет с момента последнего линчевания в Техасе, и 40 лет - с того времени, когда каждый третий белый мужчина в Далласе был членом Ку-Клукс-Клана. Т.е., идея "народного правосудия" тогда казалась еще не столь дикой, как сейчас.
